I think hope is not simply looking around and saying that everything’s great – that’s just ridiculous. For hope to have substance, it has to acknowledge the pain. But hope is saying that’s not the final story. It’s not saying pain doesn’t exist, but it’s saying there’s not a period at the end of that sentence. It’s still being written.

The glory of the Christian life is that we have a hope that overwhelms grief. It doesn’t eradicate it. It sweetens it. It overwhelms it.

spiritualinspiration:

Today, if you feel stuck, locked out or defeated, remember Jesus is the one who holds the keys to your freedom. All you have to do is call on His name and He will answer. He promises to hear you and deliver you. Receive His salvation, receive hope, and receive the freedom and victory He came to give.

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

spiritualinspiration:

“Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see” (Hebrews 11:1, NLT)
So many people today get down and discouraged because they only focus on their present circumstances. They’re constantly dwelling on their problems, what they don’t have, and what’s wrong with them. They don’t realize it, but they’re allowing the enemy to steal their hope. This negative frame of mind is what keeps people from moving forward in life.
Understand today that faith is confidence and assurance about the things we hope for according to the promises of God. Like an arrow, your faith points to the target of hope. If you don’t have hope, that arrow of faith has nothing to aim for. It won’t accomplish anything. But when you keep your hopes up, when you keep expecting and believing, it’s like making that target larger and larger and easier to hit!
Choose today to live with an attitude of expectancy. Don’t focus on your circumstances; focus on your God! Get your hopes up! Take captive every negative thought. As you focus on God’s goodness and faithfulness, you’ll feel that hope inside of you growing. Give your faith a target and move forward confidently in the direction of your dreams!

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful” (Hebrews 10:23 NKJ).
God knew there would be times when we would be tempted to waver in our confession of hope. Maybe you are believing for something and you’re starting to think, “Is this really for me? Will this really ever happen?” If that’s you today, remember, He who promised is faithful! And His faithfulness doesn’t depend on your ability to figure it all out. His faithfulness doesn’t depend on the plans we can make or the scenarios we can come up with; He’s faithfulness depends on His Word which never changes!
Declare His Word and hold on to your confession of hope today. Be confident that God can make a way when there seems to be no way. Even when your mind may waver, don’t allow your confession to waver. Declare that God is working behind the scenes on your behalf. Declare that He Who began a good work in you is faithful to complete it. Remember, there is power in your words and power when your words are in agreement with His Word. As you hold on to your confession of hope, you’ll see His faithfulness, and you’ll move forward into victory in every area of your life.

“Hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” (Romans 5:5)

Even Christians can sometimes feel hopeless and powerless to overcome adversities. Maybe you feel trapped in your job, or your marriage is in trouble and there doesn’t seem to be an answer. You may have a child who is on the wrong path. Or maybe you are single and have given up any hope of ever meeting the right person. But no matter where you are, God can turn your situation around—and it could start happening today! If you believe with all your heart that God has something great around the corner for you, then hope will take over.

God’s hope is such a powerful thing that it can keep you going when practically nothing else can. That’s because God’s hope will never fail or let you down, even if everything else does.

Always.

spiritualinspiration:

” God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1, NIV). God is always present with you. That means at all times, continually, perpetually, throughout all time, God is with you. In your day of trouble, He is a help to you. How is He your help? By providing whatever you need; by opening doors for you; by orchestrating things in your favor. That’s because “help” is specific to your need. We serve a God who is very specific, and because He is always with you, He always knows exactly what you need!
Today, are you facing trouble or adversity? Know that God is with you. Look to Him for help. Trust that He has the answer, and that He is working things out in your favor. As you continue to believe Him and follow His direction, He will lead you in the way that you should go. He will comfort you, revive you, restore you and bless you! He will be your ever-present help because He is forever faithful to His Word!

I just want to pour out my heart to God tonight. Not here, of course. When I’m with Him, when it’s just Him and me at this time of the night.
My heart is so heavy with mixed feelings about this relationship. But who else understands them better than God? It’s the time of the semester when assignments are due and tests are happening on the very same day, which kind of makes me not want to think so much about the larger issues in my life, especially this one.
I have so much hope for this relationship, I really do. And all evidence, all logic seems to fight against it. But the beautiful thing about love is that it is irrationally persistent. As is God’s love for us. Until it becomes the logical, rational thing to do. I never want to stop fighting for it. No matter how many times my heart has to be pierced with hurtful remarks. I never want to stop fighting. This is my love for him.
I thank God for all the hurt at the end of the day. He helps me understand how it felt and still feels for Him when His love goes unrequited, and worse, rejected.

Yet I still dare to hope
When I remember this:
The faithful love of the Lord never ends
His mercies never cease.
Great is His faithfulness;
His mercies begin afresh each morning.

spiritualinspiration:

Everyone goes through times in life that seem dark or heavy. You may be going through something right now, and you don’t see how it could ever work out. You don’t have the funds. The problems look insurmountable. But if you will stay breakthrough–minded and focused on what God can do, His Word promises that the light will come bursting in. Notice, it’s not going to trickle in. It’s not going to barely get there. No, like a flood, like the breaking forth of waters, it will come bursting in. That means, suddenly, things will change in your favor.
When things seem dark, don’t start complaining. Don’t get negative and sour. Remember, God likes to do things suddenly. Keep reminding yourself that the light is about to come bursting in! It may be today, may be tomorrow, next week, next month, next year. But know this: your breakthrough is on the way!

God’s been making all things work together for your good since day one. He never missed anything. Trust Him, have hope, and have faith. You might be overwhelmed, but He, your Father and great Lover, has never given up on you, nor on your situations, nor on your concerns. Because He’s still with you, drop the fears, beloved. Weeping may last for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

Hope

onlinecounsellingcollege:

1. Hope shines brightest when the night is darkest.

2. Hope hangs in there and renews our will to fight when we feel discouraged and we want to give up.

3. Hope relights our fire and renews our energy when we’re feeling tired, worn out and weak.

4. Hope refuses to give up – despite the cynics and naysayers, the pragmatists, the realists, and those who “know what’s best”!

5. Hope patiently keeps waiting and listening for the answers.

6. Hope pushes through the pain when no one’s there to help.

7. Hope endures hardship as it sees the goal ahead.

8. Hope keeps on smiling as it knows that it will win; it just requires patience, and the will to persevere.

9. Hope reaches for answers when others say “give up”.

10. Hope provides the courage and the strength we need to make the most of life, and do our best, and live our dreams.

1 Corinthians 13:7

“[Love] always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” (NIV)

“Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.” (NLT)

“Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].” (AMP)
